I designed this publication as a demo for my skills in photography, writing and design. Produced entirely in Open Source software on a Ubuntu Linux computer, this was the first publication I had printed commercially and the results were as good as any software I have used. As a humorous note, all of the ads are for my own projects except for one that I designed. A copy of “Victoria Gibson, Artist Journal - Spring 2009″ can be downloaded from the title link.

This program was designed for “The Deep Listening Band” concert in Seattle that I documented with photos and video. I was able to create this program from material provided by the group to assist audience members and to commemorate the 20th anniversary event. Download a copy here.

Dr. Stephen Botek is a charming clarinetist who has written his memoirs about his participation in music during the Big Band Era. This ad was designed using the strict constraints of the Downbeat magazine gift guide and was published in the December 2008 issue.
