Immersive Environment Instrument (IEI)
The Immersive Environment Instrument (IEI) will encompass the genres of live performance and add elements of film with multiscreen projection to create a 3-dimensional sensory experience. The IEI will give the composer/producer/artist direct gestural control of Sound + Light through Motion. Once I construct the instrument, others will be able to compose works using the technology control systems. My first composition for the IEI is Girl Can Dream, but I already have ideas for immersive outer space, underwater and other interesting experiences. Merging genres to fuse performance with mixed reality and immersive experience, the IEI will allow me, Victoria Gibson, and potentially others, to move into a new era of performance presentation.
This page will contain information and links to details of the instrument as it is developed and constructed. Posts on my blog will be categorized under Technology > Immersive Environment Instrument. Posts will discuss inspiring projects, artists I network or collaborate with and applicable technology research.
Please see below for more details about the instrument and my progress in researching and building it.
